should I lock it?

My friend suggest me to lock the fic I write right now. She said to me to make it f-lock. She asked me to do it coz the fic that she write had been pallarize by someone. She just realise it 2 days ago! She was really pissed off! But I don't know if I should lock it or not coz I'm new in this writing stuff,.. Hmmm~ what should I do~
