I remember the houses, so damaged and abandoned. I remember bright white trailers housing family after family. I remember easily kicking in walls that were soaked with four-month-old water and mold. I was only in New Orleans for 5 days
i feel like i was there forever
and at the same time i feel like i wasnt there long enough
when i left, i was sad it was almost like leaving a new home
every minute of the trip was amazing
i laughed i cried i ached
but everything was worth it.
