First thing Suki said, “Bet you’ve forgotten all I taught you.”
“Hardly.”
“Prove it.”
So he buckled on armor, drew on a skirt, and painted his face to match hers.
“Forgot the most important part.” She dangled a fan in front of his nose.
“Hhhmph!” He snatched it away.
Time ran headlong, one moment into the next. He didn’t think. He couldn’t. There just wasn’t the time. There wasn’t anything in the world but his body and hers.
She pinned him at last. He clung to at last.
“You make ever such a pretty girl,” she said, mouth curving wickedly.
