Hehehe.

And really?

My big question is, how drunk would someone have to be to not stop when a cop asks them to stop?

i know this is silly to come to your personal journal, but i really feel like responding to the july 4th "waitingtables" entry you made about tipping/hosting, and i can't without being a member! so here goes, haha (sorry if this is an extraneous and rude thing to do):

i'm a little late in the game, but i have two cents! i'm a hostess and i don't get any tips, bussing is NOT in my job description, and i still bus tables, regardless. it's a frustration of mine, and i really don't think it's fair. but that's me! i had to get that out, haha. anyway, if they're too stupid to talk to management about their situation (wanting tips for bussing or refusing to bus), i don't think you should have to take it on your shoulders. that said, if you feel bad about not tipping a certain host or two that's really helping but still not getting tipped? by all means do it. i wish someone would for me occasionally!

Oh,no, it's quite alright.

I'd hoped to go back to post how the situation was resolved, though, and I haven't gotten a chance. I did tip a hostess the next weekend I worked, and you know what? She turned down the money! She said it was her job to bus tables, and she didn't want to steal my tips from me. I snuck it back into her apron pocket when she wasn't looking later, and the next day I heard management take a stance on the tipping thing. They basically said that hostesses need to do something to earn their tips, and if they wanted to make extra money, they needed to go the extra mile to earn it. So, they're still bussing tables.

I quit, though (I'm a teacher and some of my students worked there), so I never really heard how the whole thing worked out in the end.
