I'm already weighing options like Charles going out there and me staying behind for a few months, until the baby is older. I'd lose out on Charles-support, but keep my sister/friend-support. We'll see how things go, but it could be worth it.
Eventually Jen will be in Washington DC going to law school, so while she won't be close, she won't be as far as she would be from California, either.
And I repeat: Oy.

Let me continue with, on the one hand, yikes. Moving cross-country with an infant... Holy poop. It was bad enough with just me and Leon.
Let me finish with, on the other hand, Savannah is only 11 hours from us. I'm just sayin'.

I hope windrose read this. She, as a fully functional adult, does have a heart condition that causes her heart rate to be much faster than normal (her resting heart rate is what most people's aerobic heart rate is). Even if Baby Charles does have it, it's not the end of the world, just a physical quirk like so many possible physical quirks that will have to be managed.
And boo, moving to Savannah. *cling*
