I made a decision this morning based on a lot of FB articles and comments and stuff, and I didn't feel like starting a flame war, so I'm putting it here instead. Our kids are not super modest.

1) If you're going to touch genitals, please do it in the bathroom or your room and wash your hands afterwards. I don't want to see it, and I don't want that on my couches.

2) You must wear underpants. No naked butts on the couches (minor exceptions are made for just after showertime).

Hygiene is what it's about.

I often times catch myself saying "No way in hell I would let my daughter wear that out of the house" but not because I want her to have self confidence issues but because at my job I have to deal with a very graphic side of Las Vegas's sex trade industry that sometimes requires metro police and paramedics.

Now, with that being said, a female dressing a certain way does NOT make her part of any sex trade industry. Sure it might raise a suspicious flag but one flag isn't enough for an accusation. Sometimes it's not even the industry but some drunk guy who can't take "No" for an answer. It's men's bad intentions toward my child (no matter what age) is what I'm thinking about.

In all honesty I would let my child wear anything they want but I would make sure they are thoroughly educated about it and her environment. I could go on a whole lecture about education vs. sheltering from first hand experience. Remember, if all else fails make sure all her boyfriends know that her daddy carries a gun.
