Okay, I know this doesn't really have anything to do with me, but I just had to let you know that your list of no-nos could have been written by me, especially the last one, first person narrative is such a HUGE turn off for me.

Also, thanks to you I'm making such good, and frequent, use of my Chlo-Jo manip turned icon. Yay!

LOL, just another reminder of our brains being psychically synced. :D And yes! Someone else who doesn't like first person. I know a lot of people don't, but I don't think it bothers them the way it does me. It takes me so much more time to get invested in the story, if I'm able to get invested at all. IDK why, it just doesn't work for me. But its anther thing we agree on. XD

Well its a good icon. It should be made of good use and I'm happy to be the reason why. :D

Yes, and first person actually turns me off so much that I usually don't even give stories written in it a chance at all. It's like ..."Even with my back turned, I knew that my last words had pissed him off. The angry curse he had hissed in response had made that very clear." I just read the my/I and I'm like okay, and bye. And although it's probably just a subjective perception but I find that first person narrative often goes hand in hand with overall rather cheesy writing, not always though of course.

It is a good icon, and your friendship icon is a good one too - smiles! and windblown hair. :D

Yep, same here. It's just, IDK, it doesn't work for me. I like to see the inter-workings of a characters mind, but you don't need first person for that to happen. And yeah, not always, but my experience is the same. Its really rare that you can find a good first person story, written in a way that actually makes you want to read it. I've gotten a few books that I was really disappointed to realize too late were written in first person POV. And fanfic usually gets clicked out of real quickly.

LOL, it definitely is. But you know, Jo and Chloe, bound to be a good icon. And yes! My Veronica-Wallace icon makes me happy. It's not a hug, but its true friendship. I love them. And their friendship. I think it'll be my friendship icon from a while. :D
