Yusuf doesn't drown, though! I may have to watch it again, but I thought he had one of those air-breathing devices that Arthur and Ariadne share; I just think they don't show him on the bank. My interpretation of the end is that Cobb and Saito just ...ran out of time in Limbo (either that, or they killed themselves) and woke up on the plane. I'm also pretty convinced the end is reality thanks to a few details, even though after the movie I was convinced the end was a dream.
For the record, I'm totally cool with you not liking the movie/fandom, but I just wanted to clear things up! If ...that was actually clearing anything up at all. I personally loooove the fandom because it's making me write more than I ever have, but I can see how it wouldn't be someone's cup of tea.
You're right. I downloaded a cam to watch, and it still took a few times watching it to understand that scene because it's hard to follow when everyone is blueish and their hair is all streamy and blue. I think it was probably the worst cut scene of the movie, which is probably the editor's mistake and not Christopher Nolan's, but since I hate him, I am going to blame him for that too
( ... )
I didn't want to seem like I was going WRONG ON THE INTERNET at you, y'know? But I do like talking about this movie, even if it's criticism!
I really, really don't understand how Limbo works. Or kicks. I can't figure out if the kick happens on the level above you - because that's how they explained it - or the level you're on, which is what they made it seem like. WHY SO CONFUSING. I do love fic that explains it/goes into further depth, though! Have you seen this site? It's actually pretty cool.
Oh my god, I hate that trope SO MUCH. I hate that fandom already has that trope. Every single time Eames tries to ~comfort Arthur and call him "love" or calls him "darling" more than twice in a fic, I basically get flames on the side of my face and actually flail around in anger and have to close out of the window. [/lol sensitive] There is some good stuff out there, though!
lol <3 It is appreciated, because apparently having strong negative feelings about something is Still Not Allowed.
I don't think the movie explains Limbo terribly well itself, because exactly how does Cobb end up in Saito's limbo and why wasn't he an ancient man? Are all Limbos the same? I'm getting the impression that you have to actively decide to leave Limbo or you are stuck forever, which is why they had to lie down on the tracks to wait for the train to come instead of just dying of old age there.
ALSO WHY ARE COBB'S KIDS IN AMERICA WHEN BOTH SETS OF GRANDPARENTS ARE EUROPEAN? >:( >:( This was bothering me from the moment we heard the grandmother's french accent and I know that Michael Caine was Leo's dad.
I didn't think the "dream bigger darling" line was specifically about Arthur, you know? Like if Cobb had been standing there and shooting things, he still would have said it. It was just appropriate to him in that moment. :| :| I don't really like that ship. I'm much more interested in Saito/Eames or Ariadne/Arthur.
i TOTALLY would've liked Inception more if it was more And Team Inception Minus Cobb Pull Off This Crazy Heist instead of Cobb Has A Lot Of Manpain.
WHY IS THE FIC IN THIS FANDOM PORTRAYING ARTHUR WAS SOME DELICATE CREATURE? DID WE WATCH THE SAME MOVIE, FANDOM? DID YOU OR DID YOU NOT SEE ARTHUR BE RIDICULOUSLY BADASS?!
YES. THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN A SUPERIOR MOVIE ON ALL FRONTS. -----> SHUTTER ISLAND, LEO DICAP AND YOUR MANPAIN
I HAVE NO IDEA. Like I've tried to read a few fics BEFORE I SAW THE MOVIE and I am like YOUR CHARACTERIZATION IS WRONG >:| UNLESS THERE IS LIKE A ~CRYING IN THE RAIN SCENE I HAVE MISSED PEOPLE DISCUSSING.
Except there wasn't. :| :| :|
I also may have a real issue with the kind of character that Eames is, you know The Cavalier and Charming Guy Who is Capable and a Bit of aJerk. Because, honestly, all of the characters in that movie are pretty much caricatures. Pretty caricatures to watch, but caricatures.

...I still don't understand the fandom for the movie and think it is rather crap, though.
