So things have been pretty stressful over here for the past few weeks. I’m busting my ass to try and finish my thesis by August, which has proven exceptionally difficult due to a number of unforeseen technical difficulties that have been, and continue to, arise as I try to analyze my data. I've already told you the other things that I'd consider in the past...but it was stubbornness and persistence to do what I wanted to do that eventually paid off for me, even as the recession was taking hold. But I don't have to tell you that not being called is not a good sign; it took over 20 places with preliminary interest in me before finding one that would hire me.

Wherever you go (and yeah, you should probably be leaving), I wish you both the best. You're still next on my list of people to visit; it needs to happen sometime. <3

Hey, if I do end up in Africa, it might give you a good excuse to go visit ;)

And yeah, I haven't forgotten about the CD. I actually just picked up a stack of blank DVD's a few days ago for that very purpose, so I'll see if I can get around to it this weekend.

Sorry it's taken so long... Things have just been a nightmare over here as of late, so it's slipped my mind a few more times than I'm proud to admit :p

What happened to the place in Seattle where you had a foot in the door?

Those are the federal jobs that I mentioned earlier. According to USA jobs, two different agencies in seattle were hiring for entry level positions that I was very, very qualified for. However, federal agencies apparently can take up to 4 months to get back to you, and I didn't put in until the first of June (I thought they would be a little more swift). In retrospect, I'm also making the assumption that just because they're advertising vacancies then that means that they're -actually- hiring... A logical assumption, I think, but now I'm not so sure. So, I can still very well hear back from them by August, and if I do, great! I'm just not counting on it, or at the very best, I'm not counting on hearing good news, and I'm trying to formulate a few backup ideas.
