Awww sorry to hear that your mate left you hon. :( *hugs* What I was going to send you was a quick update to the sketch I did of him for you, but I suppose there's no need for that now. X3 I'll just hafta doodle something of Kiwa and Affy instead. >:3

As far as the job thing goes....life tends to be like that. It wends its way around, never goes in a straight line. You just hafta follow some paths and eventually, you'll end up where you're supposed to be.

And YAY FWA! I will wanr you though...be careful walking around the city as Leonidas, if you do that. XD As Hibbary quite finely put it, there's a lot of "street people" around there!! To say the least I didn't leave the hotel much during that con, and when I did, it was in packs!!! *laughs* The hotel is absolutely GORGEOUS though and I think you'll love that con should you go. :)

Thanks hun :). If you were able to color it, then you might as well still send it along, since I'm sure he'd still appreciate it.. If it was just the tag thing, though, then yeah, I don't think there's really a lot of point. And lol, you don't hafta do anything of the sort.. you've done enough as is!

Hehe, and yeah, I'm expecting to get some interesting responses, to say the least. Unlike AC and FC, i'll probably stick to parading around the city during the day this time around ;) But yeah, I'm uber excited for it. Are you and Tau going this year?

Nah, it was just the tag thing. XD So yeah, I won't worry about it. *chuckles*

And that sounds like the best plan, I think you'll have a lot of fun! And no, sadly, not planning it this year. It was easier to go...what was it, two years back?....when Tau was still living in Florida, since it wasn't a very long drive. But with both of us being in the northeast now, that makes it a lot tougher for us to get out there. XD We'll be at FA:U, since it's in my neck of the woods, but I have no clue what other cons we may go to. XD

Hopefully the life change turns out for the best--I have a feeling it will. There are advantages to the mobility you have on your own. Moving is something I have to weigh more carefully now (although Scott is very open to it, and he can take his freelance work anywhere).

I know how you're feeling with the Ph.D. Over the past couple weeks, I have been contemplating it seriously...to the point where part of me is longing to be away from here and into this world-class community college leadership program I have my eyes on. Of course, this would mean resigning, too...and having to come up with a plan to deal with the debts that I will still have by the time Summer 2012 rolls around. The picture will get clearer for both of us soon (hopefully!).

Is April still a possibility? I can be as flexible as possible in my plans. Hit me up here or via e-mail. <3

I know what you mean... there's a handful of internship programs I've had my eye on for quite a long time, but like you, they'd require resigning and moving into a temporary position that provides no financial benefits, and ultimately doesn't necessarily guarantee the security of knowing I'll have a job when i complete said internships. It's really quite a gamble... a tempting gamble, but given the way things are right now, it's very risky, to say the least. So, the Ph.D option seems to be a more safe and stable path (even if it's not quite as preferred)... now if I can only find an adviser willing to take me on... But yeah, either way, it's definitely easier to make these sort of decisions when you only have to worry about their impact on you. That's a luxury I haven't been afforded in years, and it seems like a good chance to take advantage of it.

As for April, I'll just respond to your email ;)

Whoa! *licks* Sorry to hear that. Ever since I heard you didn't go to Africa and then opted to move to Utah, I've been wondering how you've been holding up. Best of luck and stay in touch! *hugs*

Thanks *hugs* It's been rough, and as mentioned, given the way that things have panned out this past year, I do have some major regrets. I'm hopeful that I'll be able to find a way to make up for it, though, and ultimately a PH.D wouldn't be that bad... half my time there, half my time here. It's really a win win situation (minus the shitty salary and the 18 hour workdays! :p)

And yeah, I'm definitely going to try to make more of an effort to update more regularly. thanks again for your thoughts and support.

Thanks dude. It's rough, but as time passes, I'm starting to feel better about it. And we're working to maintain our friendship, so that makes it a little easier.
