Pick a character and I will give and explain the top five ideas/concepts/etc I keep in mind while writing that character that I believe are essential to accurately depicting them.
I love these memes. I actually have two muselists at the moment, since I'm in the middle of switching over... Which, more accurately means "I was going to switch over,

1. PARIS PARIS PARIS and not just because that's all she thinks about. It's really important to keep in mind what Paris she's situated around. Because she varies a lot by whose Paris she's faced with in general. If the Paris is more toward the selfish, arrogant end then she's more hurt, wounded, and angry. If the Paris of the time is more personable and such, then she has to switch over in my mind to being more kicked puppy and sad prophetess. It... Works in my head. Somehow. Ish.
2. She's a mountain nymph. She loves nature, green grass, fresh air. Country farms and mountain slopes are her home. Goats are like the best thing ever.
3. Oenone was a mother, so as creepy as she gets about her former husband, her grown up son is also always in the back of her mind. She was a single mom!
4. Prophesy, she has it. She knew her relationship was doomed from the start, and yet still went into it. She plays with the future, which tends to drive most people a bit 'round the bend /coughCassandra5. As odd as it ( ... )

1. SRS. Death is serious business, so Thanatos defaults to taking things very seriously. He can joke, he understands and uses humor easily himself, but his default setting is lineface. :|
2. Peace~ Though he's often used as just Death in general, when other death deities get involved he's Peaceful death. So he's not often an angry or violent person, he leaves that to his sister(s).
3. "HATEFUL TO GODS AND MEN." He's kinda... Bitter. Everyone loooooves all the Olympians, but he's the most hated god. Not even the other gods really like him, reportedly. He buries it so fucking deep, but down there in his black, uncaring heart he's got that bitterness. But hey, he's got family and the Underworld so who gives a fuck what the Above Grounders think ( ... )

Butterflies and cats, yes. Cats are very often tied with death, right down to that one death-predicting cat a bit ago that everyone was obsessed with for a while. And butterflies were thought to be souls by the later (?) ideas. Hence why Psyche often had butterfly wings when she was depicted (yes, she's Roman, but it's a point) and Thanatos was sometimes shown with a downturned torch and butterflies around him ( ... )
