I don't know why, this piece just gave me a little chill, like the one you get from things being turned topsy turvy. I feel like I should be hopeful and excited about Alice becoming - well, lucid, I suppose - but there's this sense of dread, like something's still very wrong with her.

And I think that fits, because her coming round is going to involve pain. Without being explicit, you've somehow crafted that in.
