But I was a girl too, And you were just like me, and I was just like you.
:) Kia ora! Gosh. Your icon made me laugh so frell-frakking hard - Farscape was truly brilliance on a stick, was it not? I've friended you back, not just because you're a BSG-Xena-Dogma-French-n-Saunders-ladybug-pumpkin-Death-proper-grammar-using-Tori-Amos fan (although; wow!), or because you charmed me with a lyric when I wasn't sure anyone would really leave one... but... I friended you because you're the first person I've met who's also read Ethan Nichtern's "One City: A Declaration of Interdependence." I found a copy inside a newspaper dispenser a while ago and took it home.
Gosh, sorry for the slow reply. I believe I was accosted by feral carol-chanting, cookie-cutting, gift-grinning elves and whisked away to their secret lair. :D Although, by "feral elves" it's possible I meant family, and the secret lair could coincidentally be home.
Mm, Sri Lanka makes good curry! I grew up in the tropics of England, but my mother's from New York so I'm a dual-citizen. I ran away to America when I was 17, lived in Oregon, traveled to Alaska several times a year until it became the closest thing to home I'd ever felt. :) I adore how huge and wild it is compared to England, and how adventures are ordinary here. This is my second year as a full resident.
Slightly random, but have you ever been to NZ? I'm heading down there next year to dink around and hopefully take a Maori immersion course. I'd visit Oz too, but you have crazy super-spiders! haha. ;p
Hey! I'm logged-in now as wei_k, but mostly what I read is my friends' page over at w_squared. Friend me over there, too?
Someone just was talking about temperatures in Alaska (judging by your other recent post, super crazy cold there), and I wondered, hey, what ever happened to her... But I see you're still existing, so that's good.
Gah! Sorry, I completely missed this comment until just now. I've added your other journal back; I thought it was just a temporary journal which is why I unfriended it once you got back to the States. :)
hey - f-locked and me not able to make a comment :( - i wanted to say that if you arrive in NZ in 2008 and i'm still here there's a free place to stay at my house ...
Oh wow, thank you! I've been thinking I might join WWOOF and work on a few organic farms in exchange for free places to stay; that way I wouldn't need a work visa. I also plan on traveling and staying in hiking hostels, but I'll definitely be in Wellington at some point so it'd be brilliant to meet you.
And hey, sorry for disabling comments on some of my recent posts. My introvert-gene goes into overdrive sometimes. ;)
Then I'd love to get to know you too. :) Nice to meet ya!
So... you're interested in dog-sledding and huskies? Do you mush? *eyes gleam* I think this might make you the first/only person on my f-list who'd actually stay awake through my silly mushing posts. heheh?
I have never mushed, but I did stand on a dog sleigh once. I have former friends that run a dog sledding business. I have never mushed yet. As I am getting older, I am discovering, that I really do not like the cold much.
I love huskies. My icon is my girl, Miko. I am currently looking for a Samoyed puppy, as I love Sammies.
I will most certainly stay awake through the mushing posts! I enjoy living through someone else's eyes.
