Dillemma

Ok, so I had surgery two weeks and two days ago. For the first week I was taking Percocet for pain. The second week, they called in a prescription for Vicodin. I'd already been on Vicodin for a week prior to surgery to deal with the pain that led to the surgery. I know that it's possible to get addicted to these drugs, so I'm worried about ( Read more... )

Call the doctor, tell them you're still in pain and see what they have to say about it. Might be they could prescribe something that isn't narcotic.

An added bonus would be the doctor figuring out why you're still in that much pain.

I have a pretty good idea on that. The area that was worked on is an area with a whole whole lot of nerves in it. I imagine that until it's completely healed, I'm going to be feeling it.

Well, I certainly hope they can come up with a pain treatment that doesn't involve opiates. Of course, I'm one of those freaks who can eat massive amounts of NSAIDs without stomach problems, so that's how they deal with my chronic lupus pain.

I called the doc. He's calling in another Vicodin prescription. I'm not thrilled, but at least I won't be in pain.
