I never said she didn't sign ethics legislation, the impetus for which was the debacle of the previous Murkowski administration and not any crusade by Palin. She just got the credit because she was about the highest ranking Republican in the state not yet touched by scandal. But it is also true that Palin is under an ethics investigation, and that her staff has acknowledged contacting Monegan about Wooten. Her side of the story might even be true, but in a state with a recent history of corruption and with her history working with the recently indicted Ted Stevens (both in a 527 and in securing earmarks for the state), it's best to take her claims of ethics with a grain of salt

Most of Palin's actions since she became governor have been in an effort to eliminate corruption in the state. She resigned from being Chair of the Alaska Oil and Gas committee in protest of the corruption she saw there and exposed much of it on her way out resulting in investigations and punishments of the offenders. I don't really see how you can paint her with the same brush as the people she helped to expose.

I have not seen that McCain made a statement regarding a profit on the jet. Site your source please.

I'd also like to see the source on your opinion regarding her record of public service. She's obviously doing something within the state of Alaska for the people directly or she would not have an 86% approval rating.

Yep, he sure did. After some searching I found the entire video of the speech. I wish that someone had been panned out so we could see Sarah's response to what he said. He did, I will note, throw it out as his "warm up joke" for the speech. That doesn't make it less untrue, but many other things were discussed as well. In perusing news sites I have not seen any reference to what he said or to Sarah's response, so I will have to keep my eyes open to see if she gives one. Thanks for the link.

I do not. When I talk to my sister I'll find out if she knows who it is and let you know if I find out.

No one I have spoken to has any idea who she is. Everyone I've talked to believes the letter to be a lot of hooey.
