Well, I figured it'd be presumptive to ask-

Oh, you're not saying no to volunteering, are you.

Haruhi is very ... enthusiastic about her intentions of doing this. The problem is, she is also obviously going to do it whether or nor any of us approve.

Case in point: She greeted me this afternoon by jumping off a building and trying to dropkick me.

If that's how she's going to approach things, she's going to cause a lot more trouble for herself and you unless someone supervises her in the process.

What training does this girl require. What is this true nature you speak of?

Ah, Miss Illyria... Haruhi is requiring some level of basic self defense and ground combat training, as well as lessons on battle tactics and aerial tactics with regards to her Digimon partner ( ... )

I understand. The Kingdom of DATS must keep this force contained and within their grasp. If training is needed for this girl from one who is experienced, why not King Suguru or Captain of the Guard Ivan?

That would be up to them. ^_^ I am primarily looking at volunteers here, so we'll have to see what they say.

... Just as a practical suggestion...

Captain Suzumiya's powers do not actively apply in this world, if what I've heard is right. That means that, in a melee, she's not going to be too effective.

I'm thinking training her as a sniper might work?

I want you to consider what someone who is easily bored, and a such a threat that her own friends worry about what she might do, and our best trainers want nothing to do with her...

How to kill at a distance, with little risk, and no reprecussions?

While having to wait and do NOTHING for LONG PERIODS OF TIME before she can squeeze the trigger?

... Point, sir... It was just that, from the avoiding risk to her angle, it seemed practical, but...

I appreciate the offer. It's practical from avoiding risk...

But considering that her options would be to sit and do nothing... wander off to find something more interesting to do in hostile territory... or start shooting things to see their reactions (And anything flamable to see the explosions!)

Well, I do not relish the thought.

Well, since everyone said no already, I guess I'll do it.

Unless of course you guys think I'd be just as bad as Hoshi up there, in which case you're going to have to find some way to bribe Captain Takaishi.

Kyon seems fairly stout in his wish that it be one of the Captains or Commanders, it would seem. Unless, of course, none of them take it up.

And I know Ivan and Masaru both seem to have dismissed the idea...

This is becoming much harder than I thought it'd be, and that's going into it KNOWING it'd be hard. D:

Figures.

We better try to figure out some way to get Takeru to do it then.

That is one possibility, but if someone doesn't WANT to do it, I'm not going to make them in this case, either.

...you realize you're not going to get a lot of bites that way, don't you? I mean, not that anyone really would WANT Haruhi dumped on them...

Th- that's not a very nice way to put it...
