A streak of bad luck AND a PSA

I am so sorry to hear this! First and foremost, I hope your mom is feeling better. I was in the hospital with cellulitis last fall, and it was no picnic. (Of course, mine was also MRSA. Hopefully your mom avoided that!)

Thanks for the reminder on backing up! I usually use CDs every so often, but I'm looking into the online backup stuff that my antivirus program provides as an additional possibility.

Thanks, Kelly! I'm so sorry that you had to be in the hospital with cellulitis and MRSA! My mom found out that her cellulitis was actually complicated by gout (which she didn't know she had). She's back at home now, but a physical therapist is coming to her house daily to help her (literally) get back on her feet, after being on bedrest for so long.

Because my own backup method failed, I'm thinking that the best backup method would entail at least TWO different backups--maybe an online one and then one that is kept on some kind of external device, or CDs. I'm never going to put all my eggs (mss.) in one basket again. Too risky.

Oh wow. May good luck come and smile extra upon you to make up for this period of egregious neglect. :(

Thank you so much, Ophelia! I agree--I'm WAY overdue! But the past four days have been uneventful, so I'm hoping (knock on wood) that the period of bad luck is indeed over.
