Maru was feeling queasy all day. No, it wasn’t that he hadn’t eaten Pocky before going to work; in fact, his craving for Pocky had lessened due to the fact that Ueda was becoming a more worthier craving than Pocky. It’s not that he hadn’t eaten his usual daily amount of breakfast; he needed to decrease his coffee intake, anyway. And absolutely not that there had been a lunatic dog whose tail he had accidently stepped on and chased him until he climbed on a fence and waited a few minutes before shooing it away. No, not any of those.
It’s the fact that today was another practice for their "She Said" performance at Shounen Club.
His Tat-chan was very serious yesterday, phoning him to tell that he needed to do better on his hip-swaying. Maru had sounded depressed and Ueda of course noticed this, but assured him that it’s all business. Still, Maru didn’t feel any better.
Staring at the mirror, he bit his lip as he let his eyes travel down the body of the reflection before him. Not muscular, nor too lean… he used this body for dancing, in fact he could easily catch up with the steps. He could even stand on his hands, do tumbling, or wicked moves.
But there was that one flaw.
He could never do well at hip-swaying. His mind and soul would force his body to shake his hips enticingly, but everytime he would, he failed. That was one thing he couldn’t get the grasp of. Dance steps were easy, but when it came to the swaying of the hips, he just couldn’t do it.
What was hard about hip-swaying? He could sway his hips, yes, but not like the fluid motion to that of Jin’s and Kame’s. And especially, his Tat-chan’s.
He had to admit that he was practically drooling when he saw Ueda sway his hips in such a swashbuckling manner that he couldn’t quite contemplate. Fluid, graceful, energetic, passionate; so unlike his. Ueda’s hips seemed to work by themselves, grinding into the thin air and catching everyone’s attention; but then Maru looked at Ueda’s face, focused on what he was doing, and he realized it was a gift.
A lovely gift betrothed to an equally lovely being.
Jin, Kame, Junno, and Koki nodded at Ueda with approval. Ueda blushed slightly at their unwavering praises, and gave a sly glance at Maru in the back. Then, with an air of authority, he asked them all to do the same.

“Nakamaru!” Jin bit his lip and scratched his head. “What are you doing, standing like that?! Like a stick! You should give in more to the passion!”
Jin wasn’t normally like this, but everyone in KAT-TUN knew that Jin’s body was still aching due to a nasty fall some days ago. They insisted that he should not tire himself, but Jin wanted to perfect the song and dance moves.
“Hai.” Maru nodded slowly in assent and felt guilty. Guilty because he had been staring at Ueda. How the hell is he going to concentrate if he sees his lovely Tat-chan swaying his hips enticingly? Passionate, warm, fluid, graceful… he closed his eyes as he sucked in air.
Ueda glanced at Maru and clearly announced, “Jin, that’ll do. We told you. You shouldn’t have overworked yourself. Now there you go, desperately needing rest. The rest of you, bring Jin home. And Maru,” he looked over Maru who had his eyes still transfixed at his lover, “you know what to do. You and I’ll stay here, probably until you get the gist of things.”
Jin protested. “Ueda-kun, no. I want to finish this-” he was stopped by Kame’s hand clamping over his mouth.
“Akanishi-kun, no.” Kame stated firmly, eyes showing worry.
Jin made one last pleading look at Kame, but then sighed. “All right.”

“Okay.” Ueda placed a hand to his hips when the four left. “Yuuchan, I need to be frank to you. You desperately need a lesson.” He raised an eyebrow when Maru whimpered. It was new, hearing his beloved Yuuchan whimper.
“Anou, Tat-chan…” Maru pouted. “My hips are tired, my whole body is so exhausted! I’m drained. But I'll try to do better, no, I will do better, I promise!”
“No.” Ueda shook his head decisively. Then he walked behind Maru. “Here, it’s easy. Place your hand on your hips and sway.” He instructed, holding both Maru’s hands and gently placing it on Maru’s hips. Maru blushed.
“Aa, kawaii!” Ueda grinned genuinely and leaned his head on Maru’s arm.
Maru smiled. His Tat-chan was so cute, and so much lovelier when he does small, sweet things. Rarely did they do public displays of affection; most of the time, it was at their house for privacy reasons. But to show this fondness in an open room where anyone could see them, it was seldom. Neither anyone of them wanted to show it in public; Ueda proposed that it was only shown if necessary. Maru was glad about it.
Ueda sighed contentedly. “Anyway, on with it. Yuuchan, sway your hips, slowly.”
Maru swayed his hips.
“Aaah. Fine, I’ll help.” Ueda couldn’t help but stifle a grin.
Slowly he placed his hands on Maru’s hips, just a few inches below where Maru’s hands on his hips were. Then he rested at Maru’s back and rubbed his nose. Maru gasped. After that, Ueda gently pushed his hips in a circular motion.
“Mm, not bad.” Ueda smirked. “You’d do better if you did that tomorrow.”
Maru placed his hands atop Ueda’s. And lovingly, he squeezed it. “I’d do better if we dance like this tomorrow, this very position we are doing right now.”
Ueda blushed, Maru feeling the heat emanate from his cheeks. Their bodies… intertwined. They could feel each other’s pulse, each other’s breathing. “Really?”
“Really.” Maru wheeled around, cupping Ueda’s face and guiding it near his, their foreheads against each other. His Tat-chan was so pure, so naïve, so fragile… his eyes always showed the truest feelings, raw emotions flickering behind those lovely brown eyes. Wrapping his hands around his Tat-chan’s waist, he kissed him lovingly. He smiled to himself as he felt his Tat-chan sigh softly under the molten kiss.
After a minute, they stopped.
“One minute.” Ueda whispered blushingly, placing a hand to his lips. “I counted… Oh. One minute.”
Maru grinned, seeing his lover blush oh-so-endearingly. “Well..?”
His Tat-chan smiled. “That ends our lesson.”

The Ueda-produced Shounen Club episode ended very well, and the "She Said" part was really good… Thanks to Jin, Kame and Ueda who took the spotlight. And even though Ueda couldn’t see his Yuuchan sway his hips, he knew that his hip-swaying had failed.
“Nn, Tat-chan.” Maru whispered almost sadly, looking at his reflection in the mirror. “I didn’t do any better. What will my fans say?”
Ueda gave a quiet sigh and cuddled up next to Maru. “Aa, it doesn’t matter. I’m your biggest fan, and that’s all that matters.”
