A.N.: Meh. I need to make an AKame fic because my respect for Jin just went up a few notches. And I dearly luff Kame, OHMG you pwn at angst doramas. XDDD

Maru was happily playing with a ginger-colored koneko that Ueda brought to their concert’s rehearsal. Ueda explained to the others that he was on the way to the practice when he heard a small ‘nya’ in a dark alley and saw the poor little neko staring at him as if asking for help. He had no choice but to take it home but there was still rehearsal, so he decided to take it with him.
After listening to Ueda’s explanation, Junno laughed with joy and hurriedly went to get the fragile neko from Maru. Lovingly he carried it in his arms and tried to lull it to sleep by singing a lullaby. Koki snatched the little kitten from Junno and caressed its fur.
“By the way,” Ueda said as he watched the neko play with a ball of yarn from his drawer. “Where’s Kame and Jin?”
“Anou,” Junno shrugged. “We have no idea. The three of us were drawing lots to see who will be the last one to arrive. Maru already lost.”
Maru pouted. “How would I know? I thought you were going to be the last one. Junno thought it was going to be Kame, Koki thought it was Jin. Aaaaaa, we were so bored so we ended up doing that.”
“I tried calling them but nothing happened.” Koki added.
“Eh?” Ueda remarked. “They were always punctual; I think something might have happened.” There was a hint of anxiousness in his voice.
They were still busy brainstorming as to what happened to them when the door opened. Jin casually entered the room but it took a few seconds before they saw Kame catch up, panting. The two looked as if nothing occurred. Koki had to cough eight times before they actually realized that T-TUN were staring at them with a not-too-pleased expression on their faces.
“What?” Jin asked innocently.

“Me? I was not late!” Jin huffed in a proud manner while glancing frequently at Kame who was leaning on the wall. He was being interrogated by T-TUN while sitting on a lone chair in the middle of the room with a small lamp over his head. This was Junno’s excellent idea as he saw in his bag of toys the small lamp. Koki offered to hold the lamp over Jin. “And could you please remove that thing?” he asked irately, pointing to the lamp with his mouth. “I feel like I’m going to be executed.”
Maru nodded seriously and spoke in a bossy voice, “I know that you feel offended with the lamp, but this is serious business.”
Jin sputtered incredulously. “What serious business are you talking about?”
Ueda gave him a sardonic smile and shrugged. “Nothing much.”
Before Jin could retort back, Kame said, “Ahh. Were you so much worried about us? I understand that you needed us two, but couldn’t you four let us slip even just this once? I mean, Nakamaru was late last week, and so was Ueda. After that, Junno. And yesterday Koki was late. Don’t you think you’re being too harsh on us?” The sarcastic tone in his voice was carefully sliced.
“Hm.” Ueda raised an eyebrow to the guy leaning at the wall. “I told you there’s nothing much, we just wanted to know who was the most late. Junno and Koki’s money is depending on your answers.” He held back a snicker as Kame and Jin showed curious looks on their faces.

“Yes! I win!”
“*mumble* *grumble* *mumble*…”
“I knew my luck is with me today!”
“I was hinting for your bet… but you said his name first. I had no choice.”
“It all leads down that I won and you lost. I’m going to shop later!”
“Hmph.”
Everyone decided that it was Kame. He entered the room last, even though he explained that Jin tripped him so that he could run a few paces ahead of him. They were about to choose Jin as the last one when Jin suddenly retorted that Kame was the first one to trip him, and was already a few blocks ahead of him when Jin followed up. So technically, Kame was the loser for being unfair. Happily Junno got his prize money from a grumbling Koki.
“What could I buy? Hmmm...”
Meanwhile, Kame was talking to Jin and making animated motions with his hand when Ueda and Nakamaru entered the room carrying the innocent little neko in Ueda’s arms. Kame, who had a thing for nekos, immediately nudged Jin who also loved kittens. They wheeled around to face the cute kitten and they squeed in unison. “Cuute!”
Ueda’s eyes went round and kicked Maru’s knee. Junno stopped thinking about his soon-to-be-bought toys and Koki stopped mumbling incoherently. All of them turned to stare at Jin and Kame.
“What did we do?” the two shouted together.
Licking his paws, the neko gave a small ‘nya’.

“What gay?”
Jin was shaking his head. Everyone feared that it might accidentally drop off from his repeated denial. He had continually for so many times that he wasn’t the one who gave the gay squeak. Yes, it was not a girly squeak. A gay one. Being able to pitch high voices, Jin thought he could agree that he squeaked like a girl’s. But this was different, it was. A gay? Jin had never given a mere thought of that one. He could possibly copy a girl’s voice or whatsoever but THAT absolutely did not include the gay part. To stress his denial, Jin accentuated it by shaking his head so furiously it hurt. More than just a bit. But if it worked, who was he to complain?
Kame was insulted. The mere fact that his friends were condemning him of being a homosexual was infuriating. Even though they did fan services and such, it wasn’t a factor and they should not rely on it for them to judge him. He could dress as a girl and act like a girl but that was it. And in his mind he knew that he did not squeak like a girl’s. Much less a gay’s. Instead of copying Jin’s weird attempts of denial, he just sat down and stared angrily at Koki who was still inquiring him about his squeak.
“I do NOT squeak like a gay.”
Of course, the rapper did not believe it. This made Kame angrier. Koki was either stupid or stubborn. He wasn’t sure which, but both options didn’t do anything to make his mood better. What was worse, Junno egged him on. This was enough to make Kame pissed to the core.
“What are you talking about?” His train of thought stopped as Jin’s voice came to his senses. “I’m not gay, who said that I was gay? I couldn’t possibly be gay, how could I be gay? It’s ludicrous! I mean, I get it, we’re the vainest people around here, but that doesn’t mean we are gay! People might think that we are gays because we wear these outrageous stuff-” he raised a horrid-looking jacket “-but these is made for our work! Besides, you do wear stuff like these, right? Fan girls may consider us pretty or what, but that does not mean we’re gay!” He looked like he was about to explode.
“Calm down.” Ueda carelessly flipped his hand. “We’re not saying you two are gays, we’re just saying that it was a gay squeak. There’s a line between the girly squeak and the gay squeak, if you didn’t know.”
Maru shrugged. “It was just that we heard-and agreed-the four of us-that what we heard a while ago was a gay squeak. Yes, a gay squeak.” He stared evenly at Jin’s infuriated face.
Kame was dissatisfied. “And why are you blaming it on us?”
“We’re not blaming anything on you.” Ueda explained patiently. “We’re just putting our right of opinions to good use.”
“Besides, you two were the last ones to shout or say something when we heard the squeak.” Maru added. “So we basically have to think that one of you shrieked like that.”
Junno smiled happily as the small kitten purred in content. “Cuuute!”
“See here.” Ueda explained, pointing to Junno who was squinting to take a closer look at the neko. “Junno’s way of saying ‘cuuute!’ is not the gay-like one, but a childish one. It’s very different unlike the one we heard earlier.”
Kame huffed.
“What?” Koki inquired, looking at Kame.
Jin irately stomped his foot and said in a thinly cut voice, “So what do you want us to do to prove that we’re not the ones who sounded like a gay?”
Ueda smiled. “I thought you’d never ask.”
