Fan Service [MaruDa]

Nov 22, 2006 15:57

NOTE* Fan Service is my first-est MaruDa fic that was located in kattun_fanfics, but since I can't find it there anymore, I decided to place it here. XD.

Title: Fan Service
Author: iP
Pairing/s: OTP MaruDa, heavy JunDa (as m00n13 insisted), AKame goofiness
Genre: A big fluffy one. Eh, and angst. Comedy? Well.
Rating: PG-13.
Flame?: No way.
Summary: KAT-TUN fan service. Ueda gets paired, of course. Things get touchy. And Maru gets.. well.
A.N.: Done during Christmas eve due to loneliness of having no computer. I was attacked by a MaruDa plot bunny, I tell you. First KAT-TUN fic, first MaruDa fic. I know I suck at writing, but this is my joy. Gomen all the same. +_+;

Beep! Beep! Beep!

"Argh." Ueda groaned in frustration as he tried to raise his head from the pillow. "What time is it anyway?" he asked, searching for his clock. When he found it, he rapped the top in a not-so-light fashion. Rubbing his eyes, he read the time.

Then he blinked. And ogled. And then gasped. Loudly.

"WHAT THE-!" he sputtered as he saw the time: 8:40 am. Oh shit. The producers told him that they'll have the photoshoot at 9:00. Exact.

He felt something vibrate on his hand and saw his cellphone ringing. Hesitantly, he flipped it open. "Nani--?" he asked lazily.

"Ne! Tatsuya!" a relieved voice said on the other line. "You're awake! Where are you?"

"Huh?" Ueda sat up and leaned on the bed rail, causing the blanket to slither down a bit, showing his slender figure. "Wait--who is this?"

The other person sighed and then forced out a playful laugh. "Ueda! You don't recognise me at all?"

Ueda groaned grumpily. "Honestly, I am going to rush so please tell me who you are, because my brain fails to work at this very moment." he paused, and then added, "It'd really help me if you'd stop kidding around and tell me your name."

"You mean you don't remember at all?" the other person's voice was sad.

Ueda sighed; clearly, ordering the other person on the line was of no use at all. Better talk civilly, then. "I'd know if I look in my phone, but I'm too lazy right now."

A suppressed laugh. "You're telling me now that you're lazy? Tatsuya, that's new!"

"Argh." Ueda furrowed his brows in indignation. "What's new?"

"YOU! Being lazy! You're not lazy at work, you know!"

"Well." he pouted. "I'm schizophrenic." And then he huffed loudly.

The mirth stopped. "Fine, fine.." The person sighed. "Tatsuya, this is Yuichi!" he asked next, "Don't you remember?"

Ueda pouted even more. "Uhm... yeah, Maru."

"This is so hilarious!" Maru shouted on the other line. "You are so tetchy during mornings, Tatsuya!"

Ueda huffed. "I'm going to be busy, so I'll just-"

"Wait!" Maru pleaded. "I was just going to ask-"

"You can ask later." Ueda barked as he snapped his phone shut, ignoring Maru's frantic shouts of "Ueda!". Then he immediately ran to the bathroom.

“I am so dead, I am so late, they are so like going to kill me!” Ueda mused over and over as he ran to the dressing room. “Why did I have to sleep soundly like that? I should be used to this already. I’m so going to be dead, I am so late, they are so like going to kill me!” he bit his lip as he talked to himself.

“Oi!” Jin shouted as he caught sight of Ueda. “Ueda’s here, look, Kazuya!” he tugged Kame who was currently fixing his hair.

“Hey. Why so early?” Kame inquired, still fixing his hair in the mirror and glancing at Ueda’s direction once in a while. “I mean, not that we don’t want you around here-” he deftly added when Jin nudged him. “OW! That hurt.”

Jin stuck out a tongue to Kame and then smiled sheepishly at Ueda. “Ignore him.” He looked at his watch. “Ne, it’s really early.”

“Early?” Ueda furrowed his brows in deep thought. Then he glanced at the clock. “It’s already nine-fifteen! I am late!”

Kame stopped arranging his hair and stared at Ueda. “Huh? You’re not yet late. The producers said nine-thirty!”

Ueda blinked. “They did?”

Junno, out of nowhere, placed his arm around him. “Yes, they said nine-thirty! I guess you didn’t hear, though; you were talking to a staff at that time. But I told Koki to remind you of that!” he grinned and tightened his hug around Ueda.

“Why did he not tell me?!” Ueda thundered, now blushing because of embarrassment and because Junno was near him. Very near.

Jin pointed at the door. “Let Koki explain.”

“Huh?” Koki blinked in utter surprise to see inquiring looks from Kame, Jin, and Junno. And Ueda was biting his lip in anger. “What did I do?”

“..so I told Maru to phone you if I already told you that it has been changed, and if not, tell him to tell you that it has been changed!” Koki tried to explain with gestures in the air and in doing so, frantically.

Jin turned to Ueda. “Didn’t Maru call you?”

“Well.” Ueda bit his lip. “..he did.”

Koki made a triumphant noise. “HA! And what did he tell you?”

“Erm..” Ueda was now unsure of what to say. “I guess he didn’t tell me that.”

Junno placed his arm around Ueda again and then said, “What did he tell then?”

Ueda blushed when he remembered Maru telling him that he’s tetchy during mornings. “It-it’s okay now, so don’t blame him.”

Junno inched his face nearer to Ueda; now he was breathing on his cheek. “You’re not telling us something.” He remarked thoughtfully.

Kame scrutinized Ueda’s blushing face and carefully added, “Did something happen?”

Jin butted in. “Like, Maru telling you ‘I Love You’. Now that’s worth talking about.” He grinned at Kame who was suppressing a giggle. “Okay, okay!” he sighed in defeat when Ueda raised him an eyebrow.

“Just tell us what bothers you.” Koki said, yawning.

“Uh, it’s nothing. Really.” He shook his head as he thought of their reactions if they knew he was lazy and crabby during mornings at his own house. They knew he was lazy, he often warned them about that; but them to see his sluggishness was thoroughly a different matter.

Junno removed his arm around Ueda’s neck and patted him on the back. “Okay. Just tell us so when you’re bothered.”

“We’d be glad to help you.” Jin flashed his bakanishi grin and Ueda just had to grin back.

“Hey!” Maru greeted cheerfully at the rest of the KAT-TUN who were busy goofing around. Then he saw Ueda in a corner, reading the latest Myojo issue. “Ueda!” he hailed.

Jin paused babbling and saw Maru on his was to Ueda. “Oi! Maru! Come over here!” he motioned for Maru to come near.

“Eh?” Maru was reluctant but then walked towards Jin. “What is it?” he asked doubtfully, seeing the inquiring looks on Kame, Koki, and Junno’s faces.

“Maru,” Koki asked, “did you call Ueda today?”

“Yes I did, but-”

“And you two talked, right?”

“Of course talking is needed, but-”

“And you told him that the schedule changed, RIGHT?”

“Right, I was supposed to tell-”

“Then why did he tell us that you didn’t tell him a thing?”

“Huh?” Maru was stopped short. “He told you that?”

“No, but obviously it was all the same.” Junno said indignantly. “Why didn’t you even tell? He was so flustered when he found out.”

Jin nodded. “Yeah, and-”

“-It’s not important anymore.” Jin finished proudly. “Hey! Who said that-?” he became speechless when he saw Ueda staring at him with a warning flicker in his eyes.

Maru laughed nervously. “Oh yeah, that. I just wanted to come over to Ueda a while ago to say sorry-”

“It’s time.” Ueda pointed at the clock, thereby stopping Maru from talking. “They’re waiting for us in the photo shoot. Let’s go.” And with that, he left the room.

Jin shrugged at Kame, who was expressing an extremely bewildered look. “Yeah, I guess we’d better follow.”

“Okay.” Junno nodded and also left the room. Koki mumbled something incoherent and then followed them.

“Hey… wait!” Maru shouted after them, but to no avail. “What about me?” Hurriedly, he removed his coat and placed it on the chair and ran after them.

A.N.: I...suck. This fic is discontinued (last updated chap is chap 4), because all I had were my JunDa friends who criticised my work for shifting it hastily to MaruDa from JunDa. UNLESS... >D.
