Remember when Criminal Minds used to be perfection?
Okay, Criminal Minds just utterly frustrates me nowadays. Not only have the cases been particularly what-the-fuck lately, but the episodes are so full of missed opportunities that I want to scream. Last night's episode was especially depressing in that respect.
Again, a list of things worth mentioning, because I'm too annoyed with the episode to post anything more coherent.
#1 - Oh, Emily. You obvious thing you.
[JJ doping herself with an energy drink]
Emily: Oh, you're not playing around.
JJ: Mm, Will's away all week, so I'm pulling double duty with Henry.
Please, you've been shagging Emily all week. We know.
But anyway, I love the 'Oh, that bastard' look on Emily's face when JJ mentions Will.
#2 - Ladies' Night!
Garcia: Please, tell me we're still on for Saturday night, because I've had it circled in my calendar for the last 23,5 days, which apparently, from the look of you, you did not.
Emily: Oh, Garcia paid good money for those salsa lessons.
JJ: I'll get a sitter!
First of all, JJ's facial expressions win at life. Secondly, salsa lessons? WUT. Thirdly, OMG IT'S GIRLS' NIGHT OUT MAYBE WE GET TO SEE THEM HAVING A GOOD TIME Á LA BRAD-THE-REAL-FBI-AGENT YESSS.

Remember those missed opportunities I talked about? Yeah. WTF, writers? We get boring stuff about Morgan trying to talk to the unsubs, but nothing about the wild night our three favourite ladies apparently had. MAJOR FAIL.
#3 - The return of the turtlenecks. Fangirls everywhere wail in sadness.
Just...no. NO.
JJ, please, burn Emily's wardrobe.
#4 - This unbearable hotness on my screeeeeeeen~
I mean, how can anyone wonder why I ship these two? My God, my ovaries are basically doing the Riverdance - regardless of JJ's weirdly awkward pose midway through the scene.
#5 - Emily really wants that date girls' night.
[JJ still hasn't found a babysitter for Henry]
Reid: What's going on tonight?
Emily: Oh, it was ladies' night, but...
JJ: I forgot to book a sitter.
Reid: I'll do it! What? I've seen an episode of Mr. Belvedere.
JJ: You've never babysat by yourself before.
Emily: You know, erm, he could do a couple of hours.
Reid: What could possibly go wrong?
Well, as it turns out, JJ really wants that da-, err, ladies' night, too. But yeah, those missed opportunities, my God! No footage of the ladies' night, nothing about Reid with Henry. I am so frigging disappointed!
Good thing the amount of eye!shagging during the above scene is leaving me rather breathless, because otherwise I would vent more.
#6 - And what a wild night it was!
Reid: Couple of hours! Couple of hours! You guys didn't come home until sunrise.
JJ: Why are you yelling?
Emily: Make him stop.
Blololol! But why, WHY aren't there any footage of the night? Unjust! I can just picture Emily doing shots off JJ's abs.
Also, I'd like to point out that Reid used the plural, as in, "you guys". So, Emily and JJ both turned up at JJ's in the morning. I'll let that marinate a bit.

Damn, this show. So many contradicting feelings! And, once again, I didn't even mention the case in the recap, which says a lot about the quality. I really, truly hope we'll get to see something amazing in the remaining episodes of the season; Emily's character deserves that.
