What's samphire like and what do you do with it?

It looks like a cross between seaweed and a mini, smooth cactus and grows on salt / mud flats. Wash it well, boil it for 1-3 minutes and then eat it. It tastes salty like the sea. I think it's often served with fish but obv that doesnt happen in my house.

Salty and juicy and dipped in butter.
