Somebody should ban the weather from being allowed to get this cold: 19 degrees this morning! I had to run errands, so I spent an hour walking in that shit, and it took me over another hour to warm back up enough to stop shivering under the blankets, and actually go to class...
Not much going on, really. Very sleepy, need to clean house a bit, need to do some homework...it's ridiculous how quickly all kinds of mid-term projects and papers are sneaking up on me... >.<#
Found out about a cool resource for teachers on campus, where I should be able to find lots of texts that I could use in classes. Ooh, hey, in a week or two I'm going to need volunteers to basically take a pre- and post-test that I make up, and pretend that I taught them some material (I'll probably write a summary of it). And you have to pretend like you're my students, at certain grade levels and with various handicaps. Would you guys be willing? It'll help me get extra credit in my ESL class, where I've already slacked off a tiny bit (didn't have the textbook yet), and didn't do two of the homework assignments.
Not much sweater knitting has been going on, but that's okay; instead, I've been hanging out with Eric, and orgasming over the new Patternworks catalog that came out. So many new projects to try! I think I found a crazy easy baby blanket pattern that 1) won't be too expensive, and 2) should be easy enough that I'll actually finish it before the baby's a year old (ahem, no references there, poor Dr. Locey's baby...), that I could make for Takako's baby.
You guys might be amused to know that I'm sitting next to your Steph in the computer lab. :-D I've seen her a few times around campus, which has been cool, and I've seen Mauri, too, which is cool.
Our school doesn't seem to have condom bouquets for Valentine's, (at least, not yet - maybe next week), but they are offering a candlelit dinner, a fancy caf dinner (shrimp, or one of two other options that I can't remember), flowers for sale, Valentines, I believe they do some sort of singing valentine as well, and some Death by Chocolate night. Too bad I don't give a shit about any of these activities, and I intend to be doing what I do every day on Valentine's Day. ;-D
Time to go pleh for a bit, because just...maybe 2 hours max. of sleep last night (probably less than 1) is just not enough for me to be coherent, even with a delicious chai of goodness.
*shuggles* Hope you're all doing well.
Love, Lyssa
