LET ME META AT YOU! AND WRITE YOU FIC!

Because I need more distractions from doing homework, obviously. I know I kind of fail at writing for prompts and stuff in the past, and for that reason, I ask that you only request from Persona or Ace Attorney because they're my main fandoms at the moment ( Read more... )

1/3...I went on semi-unrelated tangents about Phoenix and Gumshoe, apparently. lythdan August 30 2010, 13:14:51 UTC
A) My OTP:
Running a little with the obvious here, but going with Phoenix/Edgeworth just because they work so damned well together; I don't really think Edgeworth had many people he could rely on growing up, and honestly? I think the same could be said of Phoenix; his best friend was Larry Butz. Not begrudging Larry at all, seriously, I love the guy, but I imagine while he'd try to help Phoenix with stuff, he can't really empathise in the same way with some of the issues Phoenix has in canon the way Edgeworth can. Not to mention that I do like Phoenix and Larry being good friends (And why I find the way Phoenix kind of talks about him 'well he's not a REALLY GOOD friend or anything' in the third game kind of annoying, because he'd been introduced as the guy's best friend back at the start of the series; I imagine Larry was the guy Phoenix spent most of his time with, growing up and there's loyalty and friendship built on that, and he's a really good mate -- but Larry is completely incapable of challenging Phoenix the way Edgeworth is ( ... )

THANKYOU. Seriously, that's my reasoning on them, too. (I wrote a 6500 word thing about them...)

I can see Larry as definitely a mate, but Edgeworth as being a sort of outsider to them, a bit more mature and serious, and the one Phoenix would have gone to when shit was going down and Larry was being a doofus about it. :)

I actually wondered if Phoenix's change of heart about Larry in the third game was because of Miles' influence in the first two games. After all, Phoenix just had Larry-- Edgeworth was off being groomed by von Karma, so Larry and Phoenix would have been besties, right? And then Miles comes back, and it's obvious he really can't tolerate Larry's ...Larryness that well, so perhaps Phoenix has distanced himself a little from Larry, too?

And... hee! I wrote a 3-5 P/E fic surrounding Edgeworth helping out, too. :)

I was actually thinking this too! I wonder if it's because Phoenix is also the type of person to become so...taken with someone that they kind of eclipse his world view - look what happened with Dahlia, geez. Edgeworth comes back and he's new and refreshing and stimulating in a way that Larry isn't (by virtue of him being Larry or just being there the entire time). Now that Phoenix has a new benchmark, Larry gets shoved down the pecking order a little bit. Poor guy.

Ahaha, funnily enough, my fic (I think it was part of a larger thing which I never posted anywhere, iirc) was focused on Franziska and her thoughts on Edgeworth -- it is so obvious where my character bias lies. I've never actually written P/E because I just don't feel like I have any horribly new angles I can write on it (and I'm also bad at writing from male POVs unless they're plotting and scheming.)
