Week of Recovery

Aug 27, 2006 17:05

So, I have a lot to write since I last updated. To start things off, this past summer I was suffering from what I thought were migraine headaches and they continued to worsen in intensity and frequency to where I was having them everyday. So, anyway, if this wasn't enough of a clue to go to the doctor, whatever my insurance situation, the swelling ( Read more... )

OMG! I had no idea! I'm so glad you are on the other side of this. IF there is anything I can do to help just let me know. I will do anything. I think about you all the time and was worrying about your health prior to this. It's so much worse than I imagined. (this is sort of stream-of-consciousness due to my shock ... sorry about that) You are the second person I know that has had a cranial tumor! Wow, Laurel, I just pray that you do okay and that you're family is alright too. Wow, I'm just so sorry I wasn't there for you. Take care.

Don't worry about it. It was funny though, when I was told what it was I thought back to the time you and me last had dinner and I thought "wow, i really should have checked out if it was a brain tumor." I'm pretty optimistic for myself though, and I'm taking the baby step approach. First, I'm going to heal my head after surgery and I get my staples taken out Wednesday. Where the tumor was located has kind of messed with my ability to stay focused, my attention span is pretty awful but other than that I'm doing pretty excellent. My attention span is a little short, however, where the tumor was located it was really squishing the area of my brain that helps me pay attention. So, I'm doing OK and I know you're there for my Kristi :)

I went to the webpage and the description of what you've been through is heartwrenching. Hang in there and again, if there anything I can do just name it.

Here's some pictures from the "good old days" that might bring you a chuckle.

The pictures are great! I think I was ironing clothes when someone with a camera walked by and we decided to model the iron for the shot; I'm pretty sure it was a spur-of-the-moment type deal.

*Hugs and Squishes* I'm very glad to hear that you are optimistic about this and more than glad that you're on the road to recovery. If you need anything, even something as small as a pebble give me a call. Take it easy and I hope everything gets better soon.

Thanks Mikiko. It was a huge shock for me but also a relief, I thought to myself, "maybe now my headaches will stop." :) However, I would like to see you sometime when you're not too busy :).
