This one is about Tamarick, our usual narrative POV in the Tales of the Tempest stories.

Nine things about Tamarick... )

still not my fault, meme

The details concerning his battle skills are pretty impressive, he's quite the dangerous type. Characters who unleash their "true powers" in a life threatening situation are quite awesome, I think. What makes it even better is the fact he's not aware of it... like the barrel moving thing, that made me laugh. XD
It also amuses me that he never acquired a taste for tea, usually it's the other way around.

I really like Tam, I'd give him a big hug. ;_;

Kit loves tea. So it would have been just too cute if Tam liked it too ( ... )

I like the pickle barrel detail, but then I think the silly anecdotal bits that make up characters are the best. Without those little touches of character, everyone just becomes yet another rehashing of the standard epic hero.

I guess it's better than that stupid Wheel of Pain thing from the Conan movie, which was supposed to be VRY SRS BSNS.

you do realize I have to take this as an invitation to harass you to read/write/socialize more, no?

It would be only fair and just for you to do so.

well then... I know you've said you're not big on prompts, but they can make for fun little exercises (you know, exploring the little details like hauling pickle barrels) in between big pieces, and holy crap we have a lot of them to choose from now. And I swear Tam and Kit would get lots of love if you ever decide to bring them over

Prompts can be very useful at times, but I wouldn't do well with a program of them such as you use in RaTs. I also have this deep reluctance to put any half-baked work out there. My "polished" stuff is bumpy enough at times, but much of what is in my first drafts is altogether ill-conceived. I don't like reading work like that -- not that I'm saying everything in RaTs is; I'm very impressed by what some people can just spew out -- and I don't want to inflict any on anyone else. My conversational posts are often unreadable enough by themselves.
