quotably quoted

Feb 26, 2010 12:26

Don't have many words of my own these days, so instead I will share one of my favorite poems:

This is my letter to the world,
That never wrote to me,
The simple news that Nature told,
With tender majesty.
Her message is committed
To hands I cannot see;
For love of her, sweet countrymen,
Judge tenderly of me!

Thanks for the b'day wishes.

It took me a few minutes to understand the Emily reference on their website, but I figured it out. Really liked what they did with her poem, actually.

Did you notice the mention of the Unholy Modal Rounders?

Unholy Modal Rounders? hipnessmolecule March 13 2010, 07:09:03 UTC
I didn't see it before you mentioned it. I searched their website, and found one reference to the Holy Modal Rounders (they both played at a gig in 1999) and one reference to the Unholy Modal rounders (their bassist had played with someone who was an Unholy).

I saw The Schramms once in Minneapolis, not too many years after 2000. I "discovered" them on a sampler CD for a record label that was sitting a 99¢ bin of sampler CD's:

They have a few songs with Lyrics by Emily, don't'cha know.
