I'm the new editor of Public Library Journal! This is the leading professional journal covering public library issues. Unlike some other publications of this type it also has a reasonable amount of academic credibility.
No, it was oddly easy! I just wrote an expression of interest saying what I would do if I were editor and then I got an email today saying I'd got it! I think it probably helped that Briony already knows me and that I am reasonably competent etc. I don't know if you have much of a public library focus or not but if you do, I'd love an article from you!
How dignified! I have never worked in a public library, so don't think I could feasibly write anything on a public library subject, sorry. I'll happily write you a piece on bees or cake though... just say the word.
It did occur to me that an article on beekeeping might be just right. We did actually have a bee colony at my previous library, though not deliberately. They lived in little holes in the ground!
Thank you! I am resisting the temptation to turn it into a vehicle for left-wing propaganda ;-) though I can quite justifiably include lots of articles on diversity issues.

(number of blanks is no indication of actual word length - that would make it too easy!)
Anyway, I don't know what you mean, public libraries are genuinely very exciting and who wouldn't want to read a journal about them?! ;-) Thanks for the congratulations also :-)
