Now 2020 has come to an end, here is my 2020 Icon Progression Post! Layout credit goes to

January
I made a few icons for
itsabattlefield and I was really happy with how they turned out. I managed to play around making more complex composotions, use some brushes and bright colouring.
February
I didn't make many icons this month. I ended up only completing two icons for
itsabattlefield that I didn't not finish. Again I played around with using vibrant/bright colouring.
March
This month I managed to participate in
themeofthemonth and made 5 icons using my favourite colour purple. I also made a few icons for
perioddrama_ic. I really practiced using negative space and cutting figures out and feel that I have improved.
April
Again, I participated in challenge for
perioddrama_ic and also did some for another challenge at a now deleted icontest community. I really loved the complex compositions I did with the last two icons and think layer different textures worked well.
June
Since I made no icons in May, I made it up by making icons for
perioddrama_ic and for a Fantasy Icon Battle. Once again I experimented with negative space, vibrant colouring and even attempted text.
July
I made more icons for
perioddrama_ic and continued using negative space, vibrant and vintage colouring.
September
Only managed to make 3 icons this month for
perioddrama_ic. I really loved the black and white theme and using B&W textures to make more interesting compositions.
October
In addition to participating in
perioddrama_ic challenge, I also participated in
somein30challenge as well. I enjoyed the theme Heroes and Villains and playing around with different colour palettes, textures and compositions.
November
I was actually able to do two challenges for
perioddrama_ic and complete some icons for
somein30. I feel that I've really improved in using negative space and creating complex compositions by using different textures layered upon each other.
December
I'm really proud of the icons I did for various challenges at
perioddrama_ic. I've mastered cutting figures out and putting them onto textures, and even managed to include text on one of the icons well too (I find putting text on icons so difficult).
Goodbye, 2020Last thoughts... I'm really happy I managed to make nearly 100 icons, considering my icon resolution was to make 60 icons. I also feel that I did manage to make more complex icons (using negative space etc).
Looking forward... my resolutions for 2021 are: I want to make at least 120 icons, participate in one challenge per fortnight, and continue to make more complex icons (i.e. text, blocking, levels etc).
