So lately, and I guess for the last few years, I've been thinking, I'm the type of person who, in my opinion anyway, should have a cause, something that really means something to them, and that they could fight for. I never really knew what that was though. Poverty? Child abuse? The enviroment? I always try to be as green as I can be. If I had a clothes line I'd use it, I use my sobeys green bags as often as possible, I'm all for alternative sources of energy, wind power and such. Animals? I love animals, this and the enviroment seems to stand out the most. I adopted my pets, side from the fish, who I stole most of. I'm against animal abuse, I don't know many people who aren't against it.
Today while I was drinking my Coke, I noticed on the side of the bottle it said 'Help Save the Polar Bears.' And it started me thinking. Are Polar Bears on the Endangered Species List now? I know the whole ice melting thing isn't helping them with their seal hunts and whatnot. After just checking the Endangered Species List I couldn't find them, but amongst these creatures are the Giant Panda, the Bolivian Chinchilla, the Jaguar, the Leopard, Flying Squrrils, hundreds of other animals that are all amazing. I've never seen a Giant Panda myself, but it would be pretty cool to see, and if things keep going badly for them, I might not be able to see one, nor will my children, and so on.
I had a book as a kid, it was through World Book Encyclipedia, it was a childrens world book, volume some number I can't remember. It was all about endangered animals, and I was always facinated with them. Forunatly I notice that some of the animals in that book are no longer on the list, like the Timber Wolf, and the Red Kangaroo. Infact, Wikipedia tells me that both of these animals are now at the 'Least Concern' stage of conservation.
A lot of endangered species are the most incredible animals on the planet. And because of this, I think I've found my 'cause.' My something to fight for. Red wolves are an ice age survivor, and are critically endangered. A group are being introduced into North Carolina to repopulate after they had been pushed back into few spots in Texas and Florida. The Spectacled Bear has risen from critically endangered to vunerable.
I want to somehow help save endangered species from extinction.
On a lighter note, my beard is coming in pretty well. I feel the power building behind it.
Also, I'm thinking too much about somethings. I'm so bad at jumping to the worst conclusions on things that I barely know anything about. I think I'll go to bed.
