The administration's philosophy seems to be that
the best way to discourage risky behavior is to take away the safety
net and not nessesarily inform young people about the reprocusions . Hmmm. I suppose that if we replaced air bags with sharpened spikes on dashboards, and don't tell anyone, people would be at least seriously mangled if they disobeyed our suggestion to drive carefully. Others may or may not find out about the nasty reprocusions of driving recklessly because those who experienced them would be too embarassed to go public about it, and the media would try its best to keep it all a secret because the topic is taboo.

right now i'm in the middle of trying to finish up my semester, so it's a little crazy, but i'm good. i go back and forth between Newton and Amherst as I'm in grad school at UMass Amherst for labor studies (social justice and the like), but my folks are still here in Newton & i like to come home on weekends. i think i'll be here for the summer interning.

Wow, labor studies! That's a topic I find myself thinking about a lot these days. For a while I had been thinking about becoming a social worker, and I took some classes in the topic. I might still pursue that career path but I'm trying to decide between that and photography.
