 I should have realized today was going to be bad from the get go.
I walk into work, and as I'm checking my schedule for the rest of the week before clocking in [I still had a minute before 7am], the manager on shift comes up to me and asks "Can you clean the machine for me? I don't think I doing it right." And she was correct. She wasn't doing it

You know, I wasn't meaning to be "hey look, single girl here!" There might be other singles that come, there might not.

The fact of the matter is that they (the males) are coming because they're my friends too. And no one is going to care that there is a single person there. We're NOT that shallow.

If there's one thing that's more important than a relationship, it's friendship. Don't alienate yourself from the people that care about you.

I REALLY wasn't intending the conversation to turn into... whatever this is. If you're angry at me, so be it. I'm not angry at you. I wasn't trying to hurt your feelings.

I was just trying to plan a birthday party. If it comes to it, I just won't speak of it again.

From the point of view of a single person, and that one of your first comments about the party was "boyfriends are coming!" wasn't exactly encouraging.
I'm not angry, just a little... upset, and it might mostly be just because of the shitty day I've been having today already, as you can plainly read above, plus some other things that happened afterwards when Mom and I were up in Greeley. It was just.... You get the idea.
I might change my mind later. It is, after all, still a few weeks away. If I may ask.... where will the party be, so I can tell mom her "plan" might, or might not, work. She thinks I should go in a sexy dress and end up picking someone up at the party...... whoop-de-do........

Still, I'm not angry. In the end, it is your decision. I wasn't insisting relentlessly that you come and I don't plan to do so if you decide not to. Far be it from me to make decisions for you. I offered you some advice above and that's as far as I go. You can do what you want without another word from me. :-)

I have not made any plans yet. This was just a cursory inspection, seeing who might be available to attend on this particular day and time.

It's still a few weeks away and, truth be told, I'm not even sure I have the time off from work yet.
