Anyone computer savvy able to help me out?

I'm posting this on all the sites I go to, so if you see multiple copies, that's why. I am EXTREMELY desperate for help right now!!!!

I have a few really bad computer problems, and I"m hoping I can get this out before I encounter one of them.

1: reformating your computer might be the only option. if you've had that many viruses in the past year that could be your only option. might not be so ....but it's possible ( ... )

thankfully... mom got an external hard drive last year for her laptop [but never used it because it was too confusing] so i could just put my files on there, reformat/reinstall windows, and then put everything back... ^^'

uh... no, i'm not even sure where to look for those kinds of sites... everyone else seems to be able to have better luck with finding those than i am >.>'

i don't really like having to call companies... last time i had to call a technical company, they didn't know what they were talking about.... and her warranty is up, we've had it for well over a year now... got the laptop in either june or july last year... either way, a one year warranty [if mom got one, don't think she would have] would be over by now...
