Am I alone in thinking because John Sheppard appears to have more of a male mindset when it comes to women on Stargate: Atlantis that he isn't really a man whore?

I don't get the issue about the "kirking" thing, maybe someone could fill me in?

"Kirking" refers to Capt. Kirk from the original Star Trek. Basically, anytime a female alien as hot, he'd bang her, or she'd hit on him, or he'd hit on her, etc., ad naseum. So when Sheppard bangs every alien female in sight, it's thought of as "kirking."
