This might mean more time for the 'John & Rodney' show. Oh joy? Not always
Well, DH's going to have stuff going on in his personal life now, plus he's going to be a writer on a new show. So I'm going to quietly hope for more John and Teyla and Ronon (oh my!) and if Sam and the new people work out, then that's fine.
Lizzie was never my favorite character, and it's not like she gets a whole lot to do these days as it is, so I'm not too bummed about that whole thing. I adore Carson, am ambivalent about Jewel, but I'll try to keep an open mind. The same with Sam... I don't mind the guest-starring, but... Okay, basically, I love Sam, but I don't want Atlantis to become all about Sam because it's Atlantis, NOT SG-1. Does that make any sense?
I hadn't read about DH new plans but I'll quietly hope for John, Teyla and Ronon with you.
Liz was never my favorite either but she had potential and I don't think they ever really used it. I liked Sam on Sg-1 but it won't be the same on Atlantis and I'm a bit worried that it might be written that way.
I hadn't heard about Sam and Weir. I can easily see Weir being downgraded to recurring. Very much like Gen. Hammond -- its the team that gets the most airtime. And if its by the actor's choice, the fans really should have nothing to say about it. If its not, then we just watch and see if the producers know what they are doing. *fingers crossed
( ... )
I'd like to believe that Sam will be used wisely and without totally overshadowing Teyla. There might be good rumors/hints about some solid Teyla action in season 4 but I'm still worried.
Last I heard about Jewel was she was going to be in over half the episodes. 13-15, I think.
Comes back in March for the US, but it's been 'Hello, my Canadian comrades' for me ;)
According to Jewel Staite's blog back in mid-December, she is only contracted to do 3 episodes. She said she didn't know where the 13 episodes figure came from, and she just asked people to give her a chance, and maybe they'd bring her back at a later time. She also emphasized that her character is NOT the replacement for Beckett. (And then said some very charming things about Paul McGillion.) I tried to find the entry again, to refresh my memory, but couldn't.
Of course, this was a month ago. I try not to get too spoilery, so I don't know if there has, indeed, been a change there.
March, huh? I think I was better off when I didn't know that.
First off, I don't find it to be that big of change the way things are now.
If 'tis true, tis pity - and pity 'tis, 'tis true!
All I was ever hoping for in S4 was more storylines, scenes, and meaningful action for Teyla. I don't know how that's going to work out in with TPTB writing for Carter and Jewel Stait's character.
I'm still holding out for some decent Teyla-time. With everyone except Ronon (just for a change of scenery).
I totally agree about the change of scenery with Ronon and Teyla. I love the team, not JohnRodney & RononTeyla.
I'm really hoping for some Teyla/Sam friendship, I can see them getting along well. They had the opportunity with Weir and Teyla but they never did much about it.
