I am so annoyed! It is ALWAYS female's fault, NEVER male's fault ( Read more... )

While I mostly agree, there is the interesting problem that it seems that men don't generally dress in revealing clothing and women don't usually prey on men sexually (well, there was that news article of the woman who bit a man to death 'cause he wouldn't have sex with her...) so there's also a double standard there. In other words, to some guys, they feel they are being treated unfairly because they don't dress in revaling clothing that makes girls look at them, so they're expecting that girls should be doing the same.

And unless I'm mistaken, most of the time, people actually assume it is the *male's* fault when it really gets down to it. e.g., guy and girl go out drinking, they wake up in bed together. Neither remember anything. If girl claims guy forced her into non-consensual sex, most peole will just accept it as a given. Why not the other way around?

I do believe that it is possible that girl rapes guy. I have heard of a group rape of a teen boy by a group of teen girls- one or two of the girls even got pregnant. This news was from Taiwan when I was still living there- that was more than 10 years ago.

I do no like the double standard either.

If it is socially acceptably, why can't girls be topless if guys can walk around without any shirt?

Some guys do dress in revealing shirts that attract girls' attention- those tight sleeveless shirts, and even when they wear suits or nice clothes, girls check them out. :)

Girls Do Rape Guys dracil October 19 2003, 23:59:05 UTC
It is true. A very close friend of mine was brutally raped by his girlfriend. She was and is very strong and did not even need to drug him or time him down. She was a bodybuilder or something till she got thrown in jail about a month ago.

what if the female is bigger and stronger? dracil November 6 2003, 12:41:54 UTC
Well it is especially possible if the female is physically stronger than the man.
I had a colleague who had quit his former job because his female colleague lured him to her place where she beat and brutally raped him. His stature is about 5`3 and a slight 117lbs, and she was 5`6 and 160 lbs or so.Obviously she had a size and strength advantage.
He was traumatized to the point that he had to quit and his job. And what was worse, he had no one to turn to for help, since it seemed to be not socially acceptable for a man to be raped by a woman. So he did nothing. He told me he was literally terrified and honestly thought she was going to kill him. He apparently had alot of bruises, as she really beat him up in the process, but he kept silent.

This is funny, I was having this conversation a few days ago. A guy friend was talking with a girl and he was wearing a tightish shirt. He said, "girls must wear tight shirts because they get warmer". The girl said "that's not why they do it". He said, "really?" She said, "what, don't you like it?"
Now I think about it, even if girls wear looser clothing, our chest area will still show curves, obviously, so it's not like we have a choice to not show anything at all. I think it's more of a western society thing that so much notice of breasts is taken...aboriginal tribes have half-naked women and don't take any notice of it. PLUS I go around and as a girl, notice all the girls who wear revealing or sexy clothes. It is very hard to avoid noticing, to side on the guys' part. But my reaction can be controlled, which for me is obviously easier to be unimpressed if the girl is being distasteful than it would be for guys, but it shows that you do control your own reaction. ~Michelle
