I was walking those streets that evening around 7 PM, and again just after midnight. As for what happened to us, I could easily ask you the same question-indeed, I have, unless I've totally lost my mind (always a possibility). If you wish to clear this nonsense up, drop me a line and we can figure out how on earth it happened.
