I have just heard back from my äiti (mother).

Here is a Finnish/Finglish insult from way back also relating to belly buttons:

Haista nuppa ja vapista!

( Smell my belly-button and shiver! )

Rest assured that Haista+something is still used as a curse in modern-day Finland.
