Don't knock Christianity

Two new entries in a row...dang.

Jesus Christ died for your sins. People outside of the Christian religion sometimes show severe dislike for this concept, and I believe they think of it more or less in this way: your sins basically "mark" you for damnation, and you can't pay enough good works into the arbitrary jackpot to buy your way to ( Read more... )

Haha. I must confess that I didn't even look up "sin" as an etymology, although I do imply a linguistic correlation. It's more of a play-on-words in this case that essentially refers to my personal definition of the phenomenon.

You may notice that I really like the idea of defining positive entities as such, and noting their connection to the unity of God (without which they could not be positive entities!). Hence the positive purity. And I do believe that moral wrongdoing stems from the state of "being without" positive purity and enlightenment and the transforming influence of the love of God.

The same is true of sin as ego. To put your will before God's is (again!) to lack the fundamental state of connectedness, which exists in the soul's relationship with God only as the posture of bowing in submission. The ascendancy of the ego is the state of being without that connection/posture.
