Okay, I'm hearing that people are not finding the book in Australia, with a few exceptions, so I wanted to check up and see how that's going. I haven't heard back about it from my end yet, but what it sounds like to me is that the books just haven't arrived yet (although I'm a little disturbed that some of these stores don't even seem to know that ( Read more... )

Out of the three bookstores I checked a few weeks ago, two had it in their system (QBD and Angus & Robinson, if anyone's interester to know).

QBD gave me a timeframe (as such) - within the next two weeks. I haven't been in to check if they've got it yet, but I was planning on phoning around and checking today.

I found a copy through Kinokuniya in the Sydney CBD, and I also ordered it through Abbeys. I'm cancelling that order, but they told me they're getting 2 copies in anyway. Only two! Dymocks told me they weren't planning to get it in at all, though, so I suppose I should be grateful for small mercies.

Loved it, by the way.

Yeah, I'm having trouble finding it too, but that could be I live in the suburban wastelands. However, they did just open a local Borders and when I went to check if they had copies, they said they'd have to import it from the UK and that would take 4-6 weeks. So I'm thinking next time I'm in the city, I'll check out the bookstores there.

This is rapidly changing from a birthday to a Christmas present :p

I actually tried to get the book from a large book store (Angus and Roberston) a couple of days after its release in Australia. The guy told me he didn't think it was released yet, but after I informed him that you'd say the release date was November 1st, he check his computer and go figure! It had been released. Anyway, he said he could order it in, but it had to come from overseas distributors... So I'm not sure what that means in terms of its availability in Australia, but yeah, I just thought I'd let you know how I got on.

I plan on odering it in, but because it will take 4-6 weeks to get here, I need to wait until I'm back home where I'll actually be in 4-6 weeks.
