Have any of you ever done NaNoWriMo?

I borrowed the National Novel Writing Month book (No Plot, No Problem!) from the library and I'm thinking about participating in the 2008 challenge. Have any of you done it? What was your experience like? I'm thinking of using it to write a first draft of a novel that might eventually be a graphic novel. I like the idea of strict deadlines and low

Ooh, NaNo. I've attempted it twice, but I've found that, for me, November is a bad month for it.

I've done it; I didn't finish. I realized a few days into it that I wasn't really all that interested in writing a novel--my attention span and creativity are more geared toward say, flash fiction. Which was actually a helpful thing to learn. :-)

what is flash fiction? do you mean animations?

No, it's a fancy-pants word to describe very short (under 500 words) stories.

I might discover the same thing. But long before I wanted to draw cartoons I wanted to be a science fiction novelist. it's a life long dream, really.
