A FANFICTION PRAISE MEME
In other news, my fabulous beta has turned around my big bang fic in less than twenty-four hours. Some stuff to do, but I'm feeling a lot more confident about it now! Still need to write the epilogue though...I'm still

I really am sorry that you're so sick still. *dons mask and gloves and hugs you* Yeah, you enjoyed that didn't you? *g*
Just down to an epilogue? That's brilliant as is your crack_van efforts which I for one, deeply appreciate as I'm up in September I think. ♥

Well, there's a page of notes from my beta that need incorporating. But nothing too plot-warping or strenuous (I hope!) And it can stand without the epilogue, but hell - there needs to be more whumping!!!
I'll definitely have the tagging done before September. And unless there's nothing but fandom classics in the last fifty, there's plenty old and new still to be recced! (And I know for a start that the last ten or so are crossovers from other fandom rec months, so that's all to the good!!!)

Yikes, I'd assumed you weren't at work somehow with the reference to being brought tea.
I think I'm going to try to rec some of the newer stuff as a lot of the same stories get recced all the time, deservedly so, but anyone digging around in the fandom would stumble across those recs anyway. I'm also thinking about stories that haven't been linked to one of the archives and that might be more difficult to find. Well... I will be thinking about this post-BB. *g* It's brilliant that you're making the list because I know it really helpedwhen reccing for LoM.

This is what happens when work issues you with the means to work from home!!!
Am pretty much done for the day though now. Just waiting on the boss to action one thing and then I can sign-off. *sigh*
The last rec was Christmas 2008, so there's definitely some fantastic newer fic that have not had a chance to be recced yet! (Plus one or two old classics that hadn't made it on to the web before then.)
As long as the delicious page is useful! I'll have to sic you all onto it when I've done the last rec - see what I'm missing and what could be more useful.

Head cold symptoms very easily turn me off wanting to sit in front of a screen. Not to mention the total woolly headedness and bleary eyes phenomenon.
there's a page of notes from my beta that need incorporating. meep. feels guilt-ridden. It'll be just as enjoyable without 'em, you know.

And no problems. Thank you so much for your comments, it's fantastically helpful. I'll work through them and get back to you if/when I need something clarifying.
Addenbrookes sounds a bit like Grimsby General (now The Princess of Wales Hospital(!)) - it was built on the edge of town in the late seventies/early eighties. Mind you, I can guess there's any number of hospitals across the country which sound the same!!!

Re crack van - Callisto posted a bunch of great recs a while ago but they never made it into the memories

I've no idea what the procedure is to add them, but it would be wonderful if they could be there, and anything in future. It's one of my standard "look here" pages when people as Proslib for recs.
I do hope you'll be feeling better soon!

What I'm doing at the moment is the same thing that mikes_grrl did for Life on Mars a while ago. I've set up a delicious account for The Professionals Crack Van Recs, which enables a would-be-reccer to check through to make sure that their intended rec has not been done before without all that tedious scrolling. At the moment it's searchable by author, reccer, month, pairing, rating and crossover. I might add more if need be. It's a little more powerful than the tag function alone because of the enhanced searching. Hopefully it will be useful for crack_van reccers!

... Not by title? Sometimes the title is all I remember although of course I could look up the title, get the author and then check it against the list, ignore me. *g*
