As you all know, the Ministry is holding their 'memorial' banquet to honor the heroes and fallen of the war tomorrow night. I do believe all of you have the dubious honor of sharing my own distinction in receiving a personal invitation to said bureaucratic function. Additionally, I am sure you all recall that, as recipients of the Order of Merlin First Class, we will be expected to dine at the head table with the Minister as he presides over the proceedings.
This brings me to a sort of strange request -- and please know you are all more than welcome to decline my request.
During the ceremonies last May, many of the fallen were honored and their families recognized for their sacrifices. There were four of the fallen who the Ministry did not honor, who went unrecognized because they were amoung those werewolves fighting on our side and many of us feared they would be lumped in amoung Greyback's dead and reviled as monsters equal to those who followed him.
I would like to change that for the anniversary of the night they died.
As you are equally aware, the invitations we received allow us each to bring one guest. I do not have need to use that invitation, for reasons most of you are aware of. I would like to bring the wife and son of one of those fallen werewolves instead.
What I would ask of each of you is this:
If you are not intending to bring a guest with you, would you consider escorting a family member of one of the others? I would like to honor these men and women in my own manner by having their family join me at the head table during this time of recognition. The award I received was a result of their sacrifice and rightly, they deserve to share in that recognition.
If you are bringing a guest, or are otherwise unable to do this, I understand.

'Dora,
Please forgive my forwardness in requesting favors when i have gone so long without contacting you. However, I was wondering if you had any pull in regards to this memorial banquet the Ministry is holding. I am afraid my Gryffindor obstinance is surfacing and I need to ensure that I will be allowed to bring two guests instead of one. I wish to honor one of my fallen packmates by bringing his wife as my guest, as well as their small son.
