RUSSIA/DENMARK IS CANON
Because I'm bored,
and because I really really really believe that my OTP is canon,
1. THE ALLIANCE
Denmark and Russia have been allied since
1493. Sad thing is, it's hard to find facts and such about it since it's kind of unknown, BUT, they celebrated the 500-anniversary with post stamps so I've got proof 8D
Even though the alliance mostly was about fighting Sweden and gaining control together in the Baltic Sea, they stood up for eachother a lot. Or well, mostly it was Russia who came to the rescue for Denmark. BUT.....
2. Denmark's princesses
.... yeah. This is more known. 8D Denmark gave away some of his princesses to Russia to prove how much he love him the alliance ment to him. STILL hard to find facts about on teh internetz, but I did find a wiki article about Maria Feodorovna. XD
3. NAMES
okay, this is a silly reason, but I think it's too cute to ignore >:C
Russian for Denmark is "Дания", pronounced "Danya".
Russia's "human" name is "Ivan". A common nickname in Russia for Ivan is "Vanya".
Just... seriously. Vanya and Danya. SQUEAL.
4. Russia's protectiveness
Did you know, that several times when Denmark was in danger, Russia popped up from out of nowhere and went "FFFFFFFFFFFFFF"? Yes, I know that this is part of the alliance-thingie, but STILL. Russia declared war on people who attacked his Danya (yes I will use that name like there's no tomorrow), and even when he didn't, things went like this:
Denmark: *minds own business*
Prussia: *ATTACKS VITAL REGIONS*
Russia: *POPS UP* hey, Prussia?
Prussia: Eh?
Russia: If you continue this war with Danya, BAD THINGS WILL HAPPEN.
Prussia: !! *PEACE-TREATY NO JUTSU*

5. The anti-comitern pact
During WW2, Nazi Germany asked some of his occupied nations to sign a contract to show that they were against Soviet Russia and their communism. Denmark was asked, since Finland said that he might be interested. He was like "DUDE WTF NO", and when they made him sign it anyways, the Danes went furious.
6. The fact that Russia didn't rescue Denmark during WW2
.... yes. This just proves how they are BFF's. RLY. Why? Well, just think about it. All the nations that were freed by Russian troops were later occupied by him. With the exception of West Germany, but that was because the rest of the Allies were there too. =D
My guess is that even though he LOVED his Danya, he knew that he wouldn't like it in his cold, cold house. :C

Russia wants a warm place! ..............well, Denmark isn't cold. 8D
The shipping-name! I mean, if Denmark/Su-san becomes DeSu, then Russia/Denmark should be RuDe. Denmark seems kind of rude to me. xD also isn't it fabulous that Poland/Estonia becomes PoEs? THAT'S RIGHT STRIKE A POSE, ESTONIA~
