Screen Capture How To

May 12, 2011 22:55

Here are instructions for taking a screen capture and saving it, which is needed for most puzzle challenges.

1. Press the Print Screen button on your keyboard, which is normally near the top right of your keyboard. This will copy an image of the entire screen to the clipboard. The clipboard is just the name of the location that is used for temporary storage on your computer.

2. Open up a graphics program. If you have Windows, your computer probably has the basic program Paint, under Programs > Accessories > Paint.

3.  Paste the image you have saved onto the clipboard into the graphics program by pressing Ctrl + v, or choosing Paste from the Edit  menu.

4. Save the image and then upload it to Photobucket, your LJ scrapbook, or some other photo storing site.

There are also free programs you can download which will automatically save a screen capture, such as ScreenPrint32.
