Sheila stuck her head tentatively into the kitchen. "Dick?" she asked, looking around for the man who had stolen her manufactured heart. She hadn't seen him in a while and was getting worried about him. Unable to find anyone, she started humming and singing as she wondered through the base ( Read more... )

"If this is Caboose's doing, I'm gonna kill him," Simmons muttered, wrestling with a spanner in the shower block, fixing up the far shower like Cap'd mentioned. Sometimes, he enjoyed the work. Sometimes, he didn't. This was one of those days. Too much time in the humid air didn't feel like it was doing him any good.
Sighing, he figured it would do the job. He grabbed his tools and headed out, pausing as he heard a voice echoing in the distance.
She's...
At last. Something and someone to lift his spirits. He headed through the corridors, following her voice.

"Ooh! Sigh! Give him your attention. Do I really have to mention he's the one..." Sheila moved slowly down the corridors toward where she thought she remember Dick's room to be, but then, she could be wrong. No one seemed to be around, and she took the time to glance into each of the rooms she passed.

'It appears as though someone was sick in here, and that bed's been slept in lately...'

Getting louder now, he thought, catching another snatch of music. He turned a corner, looking around - was that her? He wasn't just imagining...
"Hey!" he yelled.

She jumped and turned, her systems pumping the robotic equivalent of adrenaline into her. Eyes widened as she recognized the figure at the other end of the hall. "Dick!" Abandoning any sense of decorum, she ran towards him.

She smiled up at him, dazed and happy. Slowly, she leaned her head forward to rest on his chest, sighing contentely.

"Hey, don't shut down on me out here," he said quietly, a gentle joke in his voice. Not that he had any real objection to whatever she wanted to do.

She turned her head and grinned up at him, squeezing her hand on his thigh. "I'll try not to."

"Yeah, pretty much," he said, looking at her for a moment before heading towards the cupboards. "Anything you'd like? It's all just the usual in here, mind."

She shook her head, knocking some of her hair back into her face. "No, thank you. I am sufficiently sipplied at the moment."

"Okay," Simmons replied, looking for a moment before pulling a can of an energy drink out of the fridge and sitting down next to her. "Least you've only got the one set of systems to keep running." His tone was light, joking around.

She smiled weakly, turning her head to follow his movement. "Though I believe they have had a bit of rough handling since I started inhabiting them."
