Whee! What a lovely post. *g*

Turns out BSG fans have some visible tendencies in their preferences and it makes me smile :)
Hee! Yes, so it seems. *g*

I'd say Tyrion and Kara are similar in many ways. Tyrion is not as self-destructive as she is, but he also has plenty of self-hatred inside
Oh, interesting. I'd agree that Tyrion would be in my top five. He's fascinating and a successfully human 'villain'. I wonder if in part Tyrion doesn't need to be so self-destructive as Kara because life is constantly heaping shit on him anyway. ;-) But I think he also lacks Kara's heroism. Even if Kara does it for personal glory, she's more overtly a hero than Tyrion.

he's the one who will make hard calls, sometimes wrong calls, but I think he won't repeat his father's mistake: just as Lee Adama is more flexible than his father, Jon has also more abilities to survive the politics by playing dirty at times, soiling his hands and his soul partly..True! Definitely true. I just wish he'd get off the bloody wall. ;-) Hee! I like Jon as a character, I ( ... )

I still want to know who your top five are ;)

My top five... mmm Jaime, Brienne, Arya, Dany, Jon. Shit! Tyrion missed out. Grr. Maybe I'd swap him for Brienne, actually. I love her as a contrast to Jaime but she's not as strong in her own right. Yes. *nods* I would swap them.

Kara's self-destructive hell is rather unique.
Perhaps in fiction... I've certainly met people like that in real life though. ;-)

as for Jaime - Tyrion thinks he betrayed him as well.
Oh, their scene in the cell! *clutches heart* That tore me to pieces.

I think that now Jon is stuck at the Wall, at least until his parentage is revealed. But things are going to get much more intense there in the Dance with Stannis, the others and lots of upcoming problems.

I think the cruelty she suffered after she was separated from her family gives her the equivalent darkness to Kara though from a different source. It means she'll stay loyal to the family, rather than seek alternative parent figures like Kara.

Good point :) It also means she'll still trust her family. Kara doesn't.

But interesting that both of them are given a spiritual/religous aspect too... Yeah, Arya's every evening prayers are hard to forget... You made me remember and seek out a one-shot fic I liked about pilots... about Kara's childhood as it might have been: http://www.geocities.com/tropiques_sol/Mementoes.html... )

I'm going to need to respond to this in detail later, I think ;) Although I'll be working from memory, as I've only read the books once... and I'm not sure how far I'm up to. The last book I'd read, Eddard's wife had supposedly been murdered, but had in fact been fished alive out of the river by the band that included the monk with the actual flaming sword...

Take you time). I'd love to hear you thoughts. It doesn't really matter that you'd read 2 books and a half (as I can figure out from the fact that you don't know the new status of Jon on the Wall and how Joffrey got married, right? :) ) 'cause there's plenty to discuss and I don't remember a lot of details as well. There's also a total mess in my head with the place-names since I'd read the first two volumes (A Game Of Thrones and A Clash Of Kings) in Russian and the last two (A Storm Of Swords and A Feast For Crows) in English.

Hmm... at the end of the last book I remember reading, the son of the King of the Iron Islands had ended up taking over the hereditary home of the Starks, only to then be killed by someone else. I can't remember which someone else, but I think he declared Jon Snow to be lord of the area, subject to fealty...

I might have a word with Mike and see if I can borrow his hardback copies, as I know that some of the books were published in one hardback volume but two paperback volumes.

I know a lot of my favourite characters kept ending up dead :P I think George R R Martin kills off almost as many of his characters as David Gemmel does... although with more literary style ;)

Should we open a Sandor the Hound fanclub?
He-he :D

does he or does he not have a crush on sansa?

I think he has a crush on both of Stark girls, just in different ways :)

A ship that wasn't meant to develop in continuity. *sighs*

I have problems with hating someone, but I dislike both Joffrey and Cercei very much. The boy was just an incarnation of cruelty and violence and after the Feast no one can doubt he'd inherited the absolute lack of wits from his mother. Cercei is indescribably stupid, in fact she's so stupid I have pity for her other two children and those who will need to shovel all the shit she'd left the throne in. It will probably be Jaime, so I have triple sympathy for him at this point.

i also seriously dislike catelyn starkI never liked Catelyn as well, but I could understand her actions and the ( ... )
