'Don't talk to him like that! My boyfriend kills people!'

It's snowing. I don't approve at all. I was all for that weird-ass snowless winter to continue much much longer. Possibly all the way into spring. That is not to be, apparently, because it looks like Lady Weather (*cough*bitch*cough*) remembered that it's Poland not Spain, and technically she was supposed to start with the whole snow thing already ( Read more... )

Poseidon actually isn't so bad. It's a pretty solid action movie with some great visuals. It also helps that Josh Lucas is very easy on the eyes. ;)

Good to know. It's just that I'm terribly biased towards all movies about great, dramatic catastrophes. Mostly because nearly all them use exactly the same bag of tricks, manufactured quite crudely specially for maximum audience reaction.
Well, frankly, practically all the genre movies do that to some degree, I'm just particularly bitchy about these. Romantic comedies too. That's how I'm wired.

It also helps that Josh Lucas is very easy on the eyes. ;)
That always helps, true. At least now I have man-candy to look forward to.

Poseidon came before Titanic (it was called The Poseidon Adventure). This one now is a really lame remake. Well actually I can't judge the remake, I've never seen it.

It got an Oscar nod. I'm kinda pissed about it because I really didn't want to see this, but now that the Academy in all their wisdom decided to show 'Poseidon' some love, it's officially on my to-watch list. I told myself that I'm going to watch all the Oscar full-feature, non-foreign non-ducumentary nominees, no exception, so I'm watching all of them, no exception. No matter how painful it's going to be. Ok, I gave up with the animations but that's only because going with it wouldn't be just stubborn, it would be downright masochistic.

Nope I still haven't seen 'Titanic'. And I think it's pretty safe to say at this point now that I never will ;)

Well, unfortunately I have to see both 'Superman Returns' and 'Poseidon'. I'm continuing the tradition of watching all the nominees (non-short, non-documentary, non-foreign - these restrictions aren't here by my choice, it's just awfully hard to get my hands on these movies, and I would really love to see them) and watching the Oscar gala all smug that I know every single movie they are blabbing on about there. Yes, I really am this shallow ;)

Well, the thing is that I have something of an allergic reaction to one Adam Sandler, and I really don't think it's going away anytime soon. I think I'm just going to think about Christopher Walken all the time.

I've actually given up on the Oscars, I couldn't care less, this is the first year where I didn't even really notice it was Oscar season. It's all about politics, it's rarely the movie or people who deserve the award that get them.

I kind of wanted to see Crank. It just looks like a fun ride action wise. i don't have high hopes for the actual story though.

I'm not saying that the Oscars are fair. Or logical. Because they are certainly not. However, they are definitely the most glamorous and I'm snobbish enough to care ;)

I don't have high hopes for the actual story though.
Wise attitude, that. But it is a fun ride, I think you'll enjoy it.

I used to care, then they started pissing me off. Now I can't be bothered. I like it better if they actually didn't try to hide that it's all about the politics, and not about who has the best film.

Hehe, sounds like a nice action film. Need one of those brain-dead-action flicks every once in a while.

I agree completely about the Oscars. Still, I'm a sucker for the shiny. The resistance is pretty much futile.

You do that! See the movie, that is. It's 90 minutes of pure fun. Perhaps not terribly sophisticated fun, but, really, who needs that?

Right, fun is fun. Besides the simple kind is often more digestible.

Oh, dear, I'm trying, really trying. I'm a little behind at this point, I'm hoping to put up the next batch soon.
But don't stop nagging, it does wonders to my motivation ;)
