'If you don't go when you want to go, when you do go, you'll find you've gone.'

As for the new batch of tv shows that cropped up lately, none of the newcomers yet managed to blow my socks off. 'The Tudors' win easily in the man-candy department but are somewhat lacking in, well, all other departments. 'Painkiller Jane' is sorta ok, but the main plot arch is pretty ridiculous. 'The Drive', after the one episode I've seen, I ( Read more... )

True. If that doesn't change soon, I'm dropping it.

A wise decision there. 'Numb3rs' obviously take precedence.

I heartily recommend every single one of these movies. Some are genuine masterpieces and some, while perhaps not the top of any critic's list, are pure fun.

Except for Nathan Fillion and maybe that girl who just had a baby, I found all the characters to be terribly dull and/or annoying.
Ditto. They probably had some plans for them later, but, well, that's a lost cause now, isn't it?

I'm just so glad that Buffy came out at the time it did, cause nowadays, with a first season like that, no network would have agreed to do a second season.
And if that happened, we wouldn't even see ANY of Spike. And the world would be a much sadder place.

Fox cancelled Drive, and I hate them for it.
4 episodes is not nearly enough for a show to gain ground.
I hop Tim Minear is able to get someone else to pick it up, because I was enjoying it.
Stupid Fox!

I just don't get why the networks have been so trigger-happy this season. It really doesn't make sense that they get rid of things that they obviously invested quite a lot into, all that without even giving them a chance to take off the ground.
And Tim Minnear really doesn't deserve the rotten luck that's been hounding him lately.

I'm really bummed at loosing both 'Drive' and 'Studio 60' which were both shows I was really enjoying. I can only hope they might be able to find new homes, but it is unlikely.
Fox is the major suckage of cancellations though... I'm thinking I'm not going to get invested in any more of their shows till they've shown at least one season...

I really hope Tim Minear will get rid of that bad luck, but bringing his show to Fox might not have been the best idea to begin with...

That's a very wise plan, but, unfortunately, requires much more willpower that I have at my disposal. So I watch everything and just cope with the pain later. It helps when you watch more than a dozen shows at a time, so you have always something to distract you.

And the American tv season gave me as much as five new shiny shows, so it's pretty alright in the end.

Speaking of American tv seasons, the next one doesn't look half bad. Of course, there's only so much you can get from thre-sentence-long summaries, but some of the newbies look quite promising.
You probably saw all that already, but handy links are never a bad gift:
