it would be quite hard to turn up worse than Peter Milligan tragic X-Men run (honestly, for what you did to Iceman, Milligan, you are on my shit list forever)

Huh? Wha? Who?
Okay, you've got me curious. I opted out of the Milligan run after one issue because I was still suffering Austin-related trauma and I didn't have the patience to be traumatized even more. What did Milligan do? I know he reversed the perma-ice state that Austin left Bobby in and that he had Lorna screw with his heart yet again, but that's it. Was there something else I missed and didn't find out by talking to my more courageous comic-reading friends?
don't screw it up.
Seconded. We X-fans deserve some mercy after having to suffer through the last few writers. Carey's been wonderful thus far, if not perfect. He needs to keep it together for the sake of everyone.

Grrrr, Austen. You didn't think my shit list is a one-person affair, did you? I actually skipped through quite a lot of Austen issues, because I just couldn't bear the pain. I somehow got through all of Milligan's run, but it was only recently and I knew already there was Carey at the end of the tunnel. It's really a good thing you decided to stay on the sidelines, though. It was a horrid experience

Not a problem. Glad to oblige. Especially since it was also delightfully sarcastic. :)
Thank you for updating me and thank you for making me even happier I decided to give Milligan a pass. Hearing all this just has me appreciating Carey all the more. I've had other people tell me that they don't think much of his pacing, saying that his stories move too quickly, but my response is always, "Who care about the pacing? I actually *like* the characters again. That's all I care about."
It's actually amazing how much I appreciate that now. Maybe Austin and Milligan were good for me...
Nah! :)
A Marvel-girl and a DC-boy?Yeah, though to be totally honest, I can be a DC-girl too, and I'm the one who converted him to comics in the first place. He's just been more faithful to them than I have. Marvel and DC used to hold equal places in my heart, but I've become more and more disenchanted by DC's general direction of late. I still pull a few titles from them, but the X-titles are the ones

Delightfully sarcastic, you say. Oh, the platitudes. They'll get you everywhere with me ;)

X-Factor, X-Men, and First Class--they're my babies right now. You chose your offsprings well. Care for them accordingly.
You have a Warren issue, too? Parker's Warren is actually the first one I can stomach. Oh, that sounded cold. The first one I actively like, then. I've never actually hated Angel - that takes too much energy - but I've always distinctly disliked him (that my first meeting with him was just before Austen's Reign of Terror probably didn't help). Parker's Warren is fun. You might not be far off with that superpowers theory.
